Enjoyed a lovely peaceful New Year in this great cottage. Very impressed with how well equipped it is. Dogs loved the snow and chasing around the garden! We loved watching the birds and the scenery. Hope to return - maybe for a summer break

Our second visit to Hazelgrove - just as wonderful this time as our last - 3.5 years ago!
Beautiful scenery and great cottage. Catered for all - our children loved the setting and Max was in his elememt. Definitely looking to book next year!! Thank you so much.

The New Mr and Mrs Dower - Stockport
Our first visit here in celebration of our wedding! and definitely won't be our last visit. Weather mixed but views made up for it. Cottage fantastic - first class! Big thank you for the welcome pack, came in very handy. Very dog friendly indeed!
Thank you for the great memories

Mark and Liz Woolhouse, Sheffield
The cottage is perfect! The location and views are wonderful. It suited our honeymoon perfectly! The weather was kind to us, even some beautiful sunny days! We went down towards Fort Augustus on one of these sunny days and came across some lovely views and sights, not least a pair of stags come down from the mountains!
Around the cottage we say many birds, the feeder being a big hit. We also caught sight of a red squirrel in the garden.
We hope to come back as soon as we can.

26th Sept - 10th October 2009 - John and Sue (North Yorks) and grateful dogs Jess and Toby
Another lovely, relaxing holiday and another warm welcome from Graeme and Fiona. Highlight of the holiday was seeing Graeme on TV after his Marathon run along the loch "Strictly come dancing "next Graeme?
We explored our usual haunts, forest walks here, Abriachan, another forest and views over the water, Strathpeffer with it's Victorian hotels, houses and spa as well as a lovely walk. We returned to the Cairngorms again with a hike at Glenmore but explored new territory on the road to Skye, stopping at Morvich and Plockton.
We were always going to return to Glen Affric, one of our favourite walks, and Rosemarkie on the Moray Firth - no dolphins this time!
We even managed a reunion with former neighbours now living in the Aberdeen area.
Books, DVD's and good telly reception filled in other times but the weather meant we were never indoors for long.
We look forward, as always, to returning next year and wish Graeme and Fiona all the best for the rest of this year and next.

This was our second visit to Hazelgrove and the holiday started off well with the homliness of the cottage and the welcome basket which was very much appreciated as always. We've had yet another lovely relaxing holiday - found yet more walks through and around the forest without having to take the car! Thanks to Fiona and Graeme for making this home from home - we're alrealy booked and looking forward to coming back next year

We absolutely loved it here and do not want to leave! Hazelgrove is beautiful, a real luxury place to come back to. Driving about is easy and relaxing. Children loved all the space. Joseph (11) has seen Nessie....?! and loved the monster exhibitions. Granny loved the birds, shame we only saw the owl once. Thank you for a fantastic break. We have fell in love with this place and WILL be back!

After a comfortable and thankfully uneventful 10 hour drive from Leeds we arrived at Hazelgrove to the familiar tranquility and warm welcome from Fiona. It was our 5th year here and still nothing disappointed. It was lovely to read through the guest book, reading the comments and realising that we are not the only ones who regularly return (this time with our 3rd generation... our 17 month old grandaughter who lovedl all the space to wander around freely. We took the advice we read from one of the comments and visited Bogbain and enjoyed the experience of the quad bikes ....lots of fun!
Don't think we will ever get over the stunning views and fabulous location and we still get excited when the jets fly over the loch! The squirrels were lovely to watch on a morning and aside from the usual visitors  to the bird table, it was nice to see a woodpecker among them.
Many thanks to Fiona and Graeme who always manage to make it feel as though it is our home for the week we are here - a real home from home...if only! but we feel relaxed enough to feel that way

Our 3rd visit to Hazelgrove and still as magical as ever. The facilities in the cottage could not Tbe better. Home from home! As always, many species of birds in the garden. The woodpecker has been a frequent visitor this week. Weather has been quite good, sunshine, showers, always warm. The "hospitality" basket was very much apreciated. A gesture we have never come across before. You do have some brilliant ideas. The dogs as always made short work of the bonios. It was so good to see a "dogs welcome" cottage in such immaculate order. Guess it proves that the majority of owners are very caring and responsible. The "no dogs allowed" cottages don't know what they are missing! Thank you Fiona and Graeme for another wonderful holiday.

It took us 12 hours to get here with 4 stops but it was well worth it. Within an hour of arriving we were outside with a glass of wine in hand, enjoying the the silence. The cottage and its amenities were superb and after long days out we were more than happy to spend the long ivening in and enjoy the view of the loch until nearly 11p.m. Our days out included Cawdor Castle, Aviemore, Balmoral Castle, Inverness (Rocpool restaurant was superb and Leakeys bookshop was like a magpies nest of literature!) Also took Fiona's advice and bought wonderful steaks from Duncan Fraser. All in all a perfect week! Thank yuo so much

First time at Hazelgrove and we are running out of superlatives. Location, scenery and the whole tranquil experience made this a truly memorable stay. We thought our senery in Snowdonia was immense - but were truly gob smacked most days for what we saw in the Highlands. Our three boxer dogs have really had an exceptional time - lengthy walks and safety to play in the gardens at Hazelgrove.A huge thanks to Graeme and Fiona for their hospitality. All amenities at the cottage were first rate - we were taken aback with the luxury - much more than we had expected.

Our second visit, this time at the end of March 2009.Rarely do places or events live up to your memories on a return. This second visit did and more!Superb place to stay, particularly with our two dogs who,as soon as we arrived remembered their last visit and were so excited. We enjoyed another wonderful week with brilliant weather and the hospitality from Graeme and Fiona had actually got even better!

Our stay at Hazelgrove was an absolute delight. The cottage was so comfortable and well equipped and the welcome pack when we arrived was a lovely touch. The garden was extremely secure and gave us peace of mind to let the dogs out without fear of them being tempted to try and explore the forest beyond. The views from the cottage were stunning and the peaceful setting made evenings on the porch a must even in mid March.
Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed at Hazelgrove 7th-14th February 2009 and I must say it was the best cottage we have ever stayed in - it really was home from home and so worth the very long drive.
The views from the cottage were amazing and so lovely to wake up to every morning and the weather was so perfect! The garden was fantastic and very secure for our five dogs who just loved playing out in the snow!
Fiona and Graeme are very lovely people and the welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch and most welcome. The walk from Foyers back to the cottage is highly recommended especially as we had so much snow which made it very magical! We are looking forward to visiting again!

A really marvelous holiday, the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in. Stunning views from the garden and from the house, including several sightings of red squirrels. Lovely big, secure garden for the dogs and plenty of great walks from the cottage. Would recommend a trip out to the Moray Firth (Culbin Forest and Findhorn Bay) where we were lucky enough to see a huge colony of seals basking on the beach. Many thanks to Graeme and Fiona for a very warm welcome, and for tipping us off about the walk up the "corkscrew road"! Looking forward to visiting again next year.

We stayed at the Hazelgrove, Inverfarigaig during 19/26th April - it was fab. A fantastic welcome package was waiting for us - the cottage was more than comfortable and the setting was idyllic. The owners lived next door and popped in to greet us on our arrival - they couldn’t have been nicer nor more helpful. All in, we (including out 2 Jack Russells) had a fantastic week and the weather was brilliant as well.
Definitley recommended and we will certainly return.

We had a fantastic week at Hazelgrove - what a lovely location with stunning views. We so enjoyed sitting down to breakfast each morning, looking out over the garden and Loch. We saw a red squirrel and a woodpecker on our very
first morning. We managed to fit so much into our week but a few places really stood out: Urquhart Castle with its amazing short introductory film, Culloden Battlefield. The Loch Ness 2000 exhibition is a well presented scientific look at the history of the Loch. We would also highly recommend the dolphine and sea cruise out of Avoch harbour - we had so much fun we went back the next day and did it again! The dolphins came really close to the boat too which was really brillent! Thank you Fiona and Graeme for a lovely holidya and the yummy treats. We will definitely be back in the future.

Managed to dodge the rain and showers on the way up from Leeds but the weather did not dampen our enthusiasm as we entered Hazelgrove for the 3rd time in 3 years. Everything was almost as we remembered it and the upbeat refurb on the bathroom was noted along with new bedroom furniture. The best meal out by far was at the Rocpool Rendezvous with the Mustard Seed coming pretty close 2nd.
The threating rain managed to hold off for us and we enjoyed a cruise on the Loch which ended up with glorious sunshine. There is lots to see and do so we much come again in particular to view Loch Ness from the viewpoint at Fort Augustus. Another throughly enjoyable stay in the wonderful cottage and surroundings of Hazelgrove.

Our very first holiday with our springer spaniels Holly and Bracken and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect holiday and location. They expecially enjoyed the freedom of running through the forest on all the woodland trails and swimming in Loch Ness.
The AGA and wood burner has also been much enjoyed. Thank you so much for the welcome gifts, very much appreciated by us and the dogs.

A big thank you to Fiona and Graeme fro providing excellent accommodation. We come to this area of Scotland with our 2 dogs and this was the best so far - its home from home. The standard of the cottage, the gardens and the log fire were certainly the best we have experienced over the past 15 years. WEe hope to stay here again in this June.

7th stay in a Wilderness Cottage (3rd in Hazelgrove) and as always we were not disappointed. Wet week but didn’t spoil the holiday. Just great sitting relaxing and enjoying the everchanging views seen from the lounge. Cottage exceptionally clean and warm and well equipped, as usual -everything you need for doing as much or as little as possible. Dogs loved the walks right from the door and exploring the secured garden, which was a godsend.

Would recommend to anyone and have already booked for next year!

Superb location. The cottage was immaculate when we arrived, as a hotel manager I was really impressed with the accommodation. The high standard of the furnishings and cleanliness really make this cottage welcoming. The views are fanatstic. We have one dog who is the Houdini of the dog world and she was unable to escape the secure garden. The forest walks that are right on your doorstep are just wonderful. Both dogs were exhausted every night. The owners are very friendly and approachable and helped to make this holiday relaxing for us all. We are back home now and missing the views and the Aga toast. Thank you!

My mother and I had an extremely enjoyable week with our two Cocker Spaniels, Caley & Billy. The cottage was very homely with spectacular views - a real home from home. We will definitely consider Wilderness Cottages again for future holidays. Many thanks.

First time we have rented a cottage as we are campers but we are now confirmed renters! Hazelgrove was everything we could want and more. The little extras on arrival were much appreciated especially after taking 2 days to get there. Although the weather was dismal we still had a great time. Gardens superb - wildlife fantastic. Our 2 dogs had a great time and for once our collie was actually tired at the end of the day - something we said we would never see! Great walks nearby and Loch Killin just summed up what we expected to find. Cannot recommend Hazelgrove enough and good luck to Fiona & Graeme for the futre.

You really cannot fault this cottage! Even the descriptions and pictures on the website don’t prepare you for how fantastic it is in reality.

The property is spacious, warm and comfortable with two large secure gardens both front and back [in which our three retrievers had endless fun]. I’m not sure how suitable the terrain would be for small children, however. The views across the loch are just stunning and I can’t imagine many people eat in the main dining room when they stay [unless the size of their party necessitates it] - the smaller table in the main living area is just too good a site not to use all the time.

If you’re lucky enough to visit when it snows [as we were] the scenary has a completely different feel and, as the loch vanishes before your eyes, it will take your breath away.

This really is the perfect relaxing, ’get away from it all’ cottage.

My wife & I look forward to returning to Hazelgrove.
