At Hazelgrove, we are trying to protect the environment and have been awarded Gold Standard under the Green Tourism Business Scheme. We are very proud of this award which we have held since we purchased the cottage in 2006.

There are a number of things which you can do to help us maintain this standard. Most are part and parcel of every day life and which many of you will practice at home.

• Please switch off all lights in rooms not in use.

• If you are not in the bedrooms during the day, please turn the radiator thermostat valve down and then put it up again in the evening before retiring for the night.

• If any room in the cottage is too hot, please turn the radiator thermostat valve down or turn off the central heating rather than simply opening a window

• Do not leave the TV on standby when not in use – please switch off at the TV 

•  Please do not leave your mobile or other electrical equipment charging all day when you are out and about

•  Please put aside glass bottles, plastic bottles, newspapers and cardboard for recycling 

•  Please put all vegetable peelings, fruit waste, teabags and crushed eggshells in the compost bin in the kitchen

• Consider leaving your car at Hazelgrove and have a day in Inverness, using the local bus service
